Good construction begins long before work starts on site. We work alongside architects and design teams from early technical review through to handover. The aim is always the same: to understand the design intent, resolve what needs resolving before work begins, and deliver the building as it was conceived. Many of our projects come through architect referrals. Those relationships are built on trust, clear communication, and a shared commitment to the finished result.
what this means in practice
Technical coordination
We work through construction information in detail before anything starts on site. Our technical team resolves junctions, coordinates building services with structural and architectural elements, and identifies anything that needs attention early. Decisions get made deliberately, not reactively.
3D structural modelling
Jack Boakes, our Lead Design Technician, works directly with architects and engineers throughout every project. His work includes 3D structural modelling, which allows coordination issues to be identified and resolved at drawing stage rather than on site.
A direct point of contact
Architects have a named contact at every stage. We raise queries early, keep the design team informed, and when things change, as they sometimes do, the groundwork means we can respond without derailing the programme.
The people you'll work with
Architects working with Step Three will work closely with Jack Boakes at every technical stage of the project, from pre-construction coordination through to snagging and handover.
Wayne Brummer, our Operations and Technical Director, oversees programme management and keeps the build running smoothly from start to finish.
